Meg has been an educator and organizer of young people most of her life. As a child she organized neighborhood plays and talent shows, corralling as many of the neighborhood kids as possible into being performers! Later she helped set up a model farm for city kids to visit and experience life on a small farm. She has worked as a nature museum manager, setting up displays, school visits, and community outreach programs. As an organic farmer she was always working to educate others about where their food comes from, composting, and caring for the planet. As a formal educator in public, charter, and independent schools, Meg always advocated for helping students recognize the connections between the skills they were learning and real world application of those skills. She has always been an advocate for Project Based Learning, which allows students to integrate and apply their skills in meaningful ways through project work. Of course gardening, composting, science literacy, and environmental education have all been a part of how she helped kids enjoy learning!
